Privacy Policy
Overview
Luudwood Ledger is a receipt and record organizer provided by Luudwood. This policy explains what information the app handles, why it is used, where it goes and the choices available to you. Luudwood does not sell your records, use them to build advertising profiles, display advertising or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
Information you enter
The app handles the information you choose to enter, including an optional business and owner name, receipt images, recognized receipt text, transaction dates, descriptions, suppliers, projects or clients, payment methods, categories, tax amounts, totals, selected provinces or territories, home-business percentages and custom settings.
Storage on your device
Your optional business and owner name, ledger entries, receipt photos, custom categories and settings are stored in the app’s storage on your device. Luudwood does not keep a server copy of your ledger or receipt photos. Business and owner names are included in accounting exports and recovery files you create. Anyone with access to your unlocked device or a file you export may be able to see its contents.
Receipt recognition
Cloud receipt recognition is optional. Before first use, the app explains that the receipt image you choose will be sent to OCR.space (a9t9 software GmbH in Germany) to convert it into text and asks whether you want to continue. You may decline and use manual entry. OCR.space states that uploaded documents are deleted after processing and that an API request IP address is retained for one month. Only submit receipts you are authorized to process, avoid unrelated sensitive information and verify every recognized result. You can reset this choice in the Legal and privacy section.
Location
With foreground permission, the app may use a current or recently available phone location and reverse geocoding to suggest the purchase province or territory. Luudwood Ledger does not save your precise coordinates. The province or territory you select is saved with the ledger entry. You can deny location permission and select the province manually.
Device backup and recovery files
Your operating system may include the app’s local data in a personal iPhone backup when that feature is enabled in your Apple settings. Luudwood does not control whether an iPhone backup is current or available. You can also create a recovery ZIP containing the ledger, optional business profile and available receipt photos. Store recovery files securely because anyone who obtains one may be able to read its contents.
Exports and recovery files
When you export or share a spreadsheet, PDF, accountant package or recovery ZIP, the destination you select receives that data and its own privacy practices apply. Luudwood does not receive a copy merely because you create or share one using the iOS share sheet.
Service providers and international processing
Luudwood uses Apple and iOS services for device functions and OCR.space for cloud receipt recognition. These providers may process information outside your province or Canada under the laws of the places where they operate. Their own terms and safeguards apply.
Retention and deletion
Local information remains until you delete entries, clear the ledger or remove the app and its data. Files included in your personal iPhone backup are controlled through your Apple settings. Exported and recovery copies remain wherever you saved or shared them. Because Luudwood does not keep a server copy of the ledger, Luudwood cannot restore a lost ledger or delete copies stored in your personal accounts.
Security
Luudwood uses encrypted network connections when a feature sends information for processing. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Keep your phone and exported or recovery files protected, and maintain copies of records you cannot afford to lose.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when the app or its service providers change. The effective date will be revised and material changes will be presented in the app or release notes. For privacy questions, access, correction, withdrawal of consent or deletion requests, email luudwoodsupport@gmail.com.
