Luudwood Ledger

Privacy Policy

Effective September 19, 2026

Overview

Luudwood Ledger is a receipt and record organizer provided by Luudwood. This policy explains what information the app handles, why it is used, where it goes and the choices available to you. Luudwood Ledger does not sell personal information, display advertising or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

Information you enter

The app handles receipt images, recognized receipt text, transaction dates, descriptions, suppliers, projects or clients, payment methods, categories, tax amounts, totals, selected provinces or territories, home-business percentages and custom settings. If you use Etsy import, the app also receives the sales and fee information returned for your shop.

Storage on your device

Ledger entries, receipt photos, custom categories, settings and Etsy import credentials are stored on your device. A private backup recovery code is stored in the iPhone Keychain when backup is enabled. Anyone with access to your unlocked device or an export you create may be able to see its contents.

Receipt recognition

When you scan a receipt, the app may send the receipt image to OCR.space (a9t9 software GmbH in Germany) to convert the image into text. If that service fails, supported devices may attempt recognition on the phone. OCR.space states that uploaded documents are deleted after processing and that an API request IP address is retained for one month. Avoid scanning unrelated sensitive information.

Location

With foreground permission, the app may use a current or recently available phone location and reverse geocoding to suggest the purchase province or territory. Luudwood Ledger does not save your precise coordinates. The province or territory you select is saved with the ledger entry. You can deny location permission and select the province manually.

Optional ledger backup

Backup is optional. When you enable it, ledger entries—including recognized receipt text—are transmitted over an encrypted connection to Luudwood’s service hosted with Cloudflare. Receipt-photo files are not currently uploaded by ledger backup. The private recovery code controls access and is not included in the ledger data. Turning backup off stops future synchronization but does not automatically erase the existing server copy.

Etsy import and exports

If you enable Etsy import, the app sends the saved connector credential to Luudwood’s Cloudflare-hosted connector and imports the returned shop transactions. When you export or share a spreadsheet, PDF, ZIP package or recovery file, the destination you select receives that data and its own privacy practices apply.

Service providers and international processing

Luudwood uses Apple and iOS services for device functions, OCR.space for cloud receipt recognition, and Cloudflare for optional synchronization and connector functions. These providers may process information outside your province or Canada under the laws of the places where they operate. Luudwood selects providers that publish privacy and security safeguards for the relevant service. Their own terms and safeguards also apply.

Retention and deletion

Local information remains until you delete entries, clear the ledger or remove the app and its data. Exported copies remain wherever you saved or shared them. To remove a cloud backup, first turn off backup and then request deletion through the current Luudwood Ledger support contact shown on its App Store page. You may also use that contact to request access to or correction of personal information controlled by Luudwood. Information may be retained when reasonably required for security, legal compliance or resolving a dispute.

Security

Luudwood uses measures intended to protect information, including encrypted network connections and an iPhone Keychain entry for the recovery code. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Keep your phone, recovery code and exported files protected, and maintain copies of records you cannot afford to lose.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when the app or its service providers change. The effective date will be revised and material changes will be presented in the app or release notes. For privacy questions, access, correction, withdrawal of consent or deletion requests, use the current support contact provided on the Luudwood Ledger App Store page.
